- From the resulting page, click the Install Office button then Office 365 apps from the resulting drop-down menu:

- Follow the instructions provided by Microsoft in the pop-up screen, shown here:
- Office will begin to download and install on your machine. A message will then appear in the bottom right-hand corner saying 'Office is installing in the background'. Note: Microsoft Office is now available to use, but your computer must remain connected to the internet to continue downloading the full suite of software.
- An introduction tool will then launch, welcoming you to the new version of Office. Click Next, and then continue through the introduction tool (providing requested information when prompted). Note: The University of Iowa has a license for Office 365, so you can connect your Microsoft Office suite by logging in. If you wish to do so, click the Sign In button when prompted.
- When prompted for your email address, enter your personal [email protected] address, then click Next.
- When prompted for your password, enter your HawkID password and click Sign in.

How To Download And Install MS Office For Mac. As mentioned above, Microsoft Office suite and all of its apps — Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, OneNote, and OneDrive — are now available at the Mac App Store. This makes it easier than ever to get the most current versions of MS Office for Mac (note that you’ll need an Office 365. Students and educators at eligible institutions can sign up for Office 365 Education for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Microsoft Teams, plus additional classroom tools. Use your valid school email address to get started today. Office 365 works like you: everywhere. Start quickly with the most recent versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote and OneDrive —combining the familiarity of Office and the unique Mac features you love. Work online or offline, on your own or with others in real time—whatever works for what you’re doing.
Students and educators are eligible for Office 365 Education for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Microsoft Teams, plus additional classroom tools. All you need is a valid school email address. It’s not a trial – so get started today. There’s a Windows device suited to.

- After the download has completed, open Finder, go to Downloads, double-click Microsoft_Office_Installer.pkg.
- Click Continue when prompted to proceed with the installation process.
- Click Agree to agree to the license agreement, then click Install to continue the installation process.
- When the installation is complete, you will receive a message saying 'The installation was successful'. Click Close to complete the installation.
- You will then be prompted to activate Office 2016 for Mac. Select Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription.
- When prompted for your email address, enter your personal [email protected] address, then click Next.
- In the resulting window, enter your Hawk ID password and click Sign In.

- If prompted, enter your name, and answer the personal preference questions.
The installation is now complete - click All Done!

- Visit the Apple App Store and search for any of the Microsoft Office applications you are interested in. Install them as normal. Available applications include:
- Microsoft Word for iPad
- Microsoft Excel for iPad
- Microsoft PowerPoint for iPad
- Microsoft OneNote for iPad
- After installing one of the Microsoft Office applications, a message will appear asking you to 'Sign in now' Choose Sign In
- A message asking for your email address will appear. Enter your personal [email protected] and click Next.
- Leave your email address as [email protected] and enter your password. Select Keep me signed in to avoid future need for login, then click Sign In.

- Click Start Using Word/Excel/PowerPoint/OneNote.
Note: It may be necessary to repeat the activation steps for the other Microsoft Office iPad applications.

All of these programs are available to registered matriculated students at Cornell University. All of these programs cover installation onto computers that are a student's personal property. Some programs may have additional eligibility requirements that will be mentioned in the program descriptions.

Currently-registered students have access to the full Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus suite of desktop applications. These include for Windows and Mac: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Skype. For Windows, Access, Publisher, and InfoPath are also included. The license will remain valid for as long as a student remains registered.

Students at Cornell can use Google's online applications available through G Suite for Education to upload, read, and edit files created in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files can also be downloaded in Microsoft-compatible formats.

Microsoft Office Professional For Mac
Students may purchase their own license for Office rather than using one provided by the University. This may be the only option for people studying at Cornell who are not enrolled into a degree program or are otherwise not registered as regular Cornell students.
